Rubicon Breach the next Social Gaming revolution opens to new user 9/25/2009

Rubicon Breach has launched as a single point portal for the massive online gaming community. Offering a place to maintain, follow and join application based games at several top social networks.

In an effort to play in the cluttered, massive and confusing world of online social games the developers of Rubicon Breach for themselves have launched a website to centralize the world of application based games for social game players.

Xeo and Vlad (online player names) have played online games since the old BBS style text games and watched the social game explosion over the years. They are both part of the gaming community and play several games on social networks like Facebook, Mysapce, hi5 and myYearbook. As these social networks have grown and the games people play have expanded they found the need to centralize friend links, game techniques application short cuts and gaming news to this end Rubicon-Breach was created.

This site was made for gamers by gamers to portal and focus in one place many of the applications that have become the main activity within Social Networks, unlike many sites Rubicon Breach is not a monetized site to generate massive income but rather a user site to help game play within social networks.

We asked Ian aka "Vlad" why he invested so much time and energy into this site "I realized that as users we are frustrated by the cluttered and unwieldy world of Social Network games and needed a place to collect and communicate with my gaming friends without worrying that my feed was flooding my friends pages"

This site is open to all game players and in time will grow to cover many online games.

The site features live news feeds, forums structured to accommodate each game independently, a live chat with multiple room capability and private messaging to allow players to communicate directly while on the site.

We are focused on bringing social network game players to a single portal to meet discuss and share application based gaming experience.

Mafia Wars Dev Zynga Sues Playdom Over 'Misappropriation Of Trade Secrets'
Zynga, the social game developer behind Facebook games like Mafia Wars, has filed serious accusations against fellow online game maker Playdom. A judge granted a temporary restraining order against the defendants.

Zynga specifically named Playdom, Inc. and four current Playdom employees, one of which allegedly took Zynga's "playbook" on his final day of employment. This playbook, Zynga's September 9 complaint claimed, contains the company's "secret sauce" that is key to the company's successes. The document took millions of dollars, thousands of man hours, and years to compile, Zynga claims.

The complaint, originally found by TechCrunch, continued with more accusations: "Despite being repeatedly caught engaging in illegal competition against Zynga, Playdom remains undeterred."

"As part of the illegal raiding, threatened misappropriation, and on information and belief, actual misappropriation, Playdom now openly resorted to recruiting Zynga employees in illicit fashions as other means to gain access to Zynga's ideas and concepts."

Zynga alleged that a Playdom recruiter approached then-Zynga employee and defendant in the case to essentially perform recon for Playdom on Zynga titles. Zynga's filing produced a copy of the alleged email between the recruiter and the ex-Zynga employee that asked for comparisons between specific Zynga and Playdom games, also asking for specific in-game numbers like loot payouts and cost of virtual equipment.

Mafia Wars Moscow PDF Print E-mail

Mafia Wars: Moscow, the second expansion to the mob-themed Facebook game Mafia Wars, lets players expand their criminal empire into brand new territory. Mafia Wars publisher Zynga gave us an exclusive sneak peek at the new expansion, set to hit a browser near you September 24.

The expansion's basic game mechanics will remain unchanged. Score cash and experience points by taking on missions and fighting rival mafias; use the cash to buy weapons, power-ups and properties; and use the experience points to level up your mobster's energy levels or fighting skills as you see fit.

The biggest difference in this expansion? Mafia Wars Senior Product Manager David Kahn says it will have, "a new look and feel," and, "will be much harder than other expansions we released before, more geared to higher level players, level 70-plus."

As soon as you arrive in Moscow, you're forced to choose sides. Will you help the the Vory v Zakone, a group of old-school Russian mobsters, or the Mafiya, former KGB and military officers who have learned that organized crime pays far more rubles than a government job? The loot items for the missions will be different depending on which faction you go with, so choose wisely.
